Emily Deschanel and David Boreanz have starred in Bones since it premiered on Fox back in 2005. The actors will soon be hanging up their hats--at Fox, anyway--when Bones ends during its upcoming 12th and final season. This news comes on the heels of Emily Deschanel and David Boreanz--along with executive producers Barry Josephson and Kathleen Reichs--claiming Fox owes them money, having shortchanged them for their time on Bones. That reportedly didn't factor into the announcement that the upcoming season will be the last.

Entertainment Weekly reports the final season of Bones will provide some closure for fans of the series.

“This is for the fans!” David Boreanaz says. “Thank you to everyone at Fox...also to the crew and cast for their countless support along the way! And I couldn’t have done it without you, Emily!”

Emily Deschanel adds, “I am thrilled the show will have the ending it deserves for all of our amazing, loyal fans!”

Emily Deschanel said, via social media, she is glad she and David Boreanz will "have the opportunity" to end Bones well.

Are you a loyal Bones fan? Are you disappointed to learn Emily Deschanel and David Boreanz will soon take leave of their roles as Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan and FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth?

A date for the premiere of season 12 of Bones hasn't yet been released. Season 11, which has been on hiatus since fall, is set to pick back up in the midst of season 11 on Thursday, April 14th.
