href to Home - menu navigation

Hi Shari,

When creating a navigation menu, various href references point to the specific pages, i.e, index.html, services.html, etc. Search engines cache www.domain.com differently than www.domain.com/index.html. Should every href to home be specified as the full path to the domain and not to the specific file - <li><a href="http://www.domain.com">Home</a></li>

Is it a best practice to do this for the navigation menu in general so that all href are using the fully qualified path?

Thanks.

How can I design web site directory structure

Hi,

I read your article on web site directory design. It looks sound to me.

I read this article is a part of a book that you had written.

To understand more clear web site directory design, I am thinking to buy your book.

Could you tell me did you explain this step in detail in your book?

I need to use that info in designing Retail Business ecommerce site.

I have to show category  and sub category  wise products listing then I have to show each product under a category with product description, price, image and product info page.

Do you think that your book can help me to design and implement the directory with ASP scripting?
