  • The stars of “Duck Dynasty” were in a lot of headlines near the end of 2013, and it looks like the trend continues into the new year as news spreads about their new venture: guns.

The Robertson family, who have built their fortune upon duck calls, have now teamed up with gun maker Mossberg to create nine shotguns, two semiautomatic rifles, and a semiautomatic pistol. While it’s not clear just yet which retailers will carry the weapons, they’re sure to be a big hit with fans of the show, who have already shown great interest in the many, many items bearing the “Duck Dynasty” and Duck Commander logos.

Family patriarch Phil Robertson found himself in hot water in December when an interview he did with GQ was published that included his thoughts on homosexuality, among other hot button topics.

“It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical…start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he said.

Robertson’s comments quickly led to backlash from both sides of the fence, and A&E announced they were suspending him indefinitely from the show. After fans took to social media in outrage, however, they reversed their decision. Now, the family says, they are ready to move past it all.

“We’re just glad to be back to work, and A&E and us are fine,” Willie said during Fox News’ New Year’s Eve special, All American New Year. “We’re looking forward to getting back to making some funny shows. It’s a New Year so we’re ready to break in a New Year and start it all over again. We’re ready to move on, you know. I think we all learned a lot and we’re just ready to move on, and the family’s happy, and we’re ready to go. I’ve got to make sure my guys are back there building duck calls.”
