The Duck Commander 500, which was delayed from Sunday to Monday due to continuous rain, saw a few problems which left Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the grass and Jimmie Johnson with windshield damage. However, the conditions didn’t slow down Joey Logano, who crept past Jeff Gordon to win the race.

It was the fourth career win for Logano, who led 108 of 340 laps in the race. For Earnhardt, the day could have ended very differently after he slid onto the wet grass and crashed into a wall in a ball of fire. He was unharmed, but later took to Twitter to apologize to his teammates.

“That wasn’t fun. Sorry 2 the fans of the 88 team. Feel bad for my guys and the 48 team also. Made a mistake there that was costly for every1,” he wrote.

Earnhardt finished last for the first time since 2007, although he has three top-3 finishes already this year and came to the Duck Commander 500 as the points leader.

The race was sponsored by Duck Commander, the company owned by the Robertson family of “Duck Dynasty”. Willie Robertson announced their partnership with NASCAR in February, saying they had signed a multi-year deal with the Texas Speedway.

“We’re excited about the partnership for the Duck Commander 500, being aligned with NASCAR, and to have our brand associated with an event of this magnitude,” Robertson said. “We are all big fans of NASCAR and have been all our lives. It’s especially exciting to see our brand join to make it an awesome experience for the fan base and we can’t think of a better place than our neighbor at the Texas Motor Speedway.”
