Domain Auction.com For Sale

Current Bid is $2.5 million

The domain "auction.com" has been put up for auction itself on SitePoint.com. The seller explains in his auction post that he already has a bid of $2.5 million and is under a 2 day time limit to accept the offer, or it will be rescinded. The seller states:

"Urgent sale because we already have a buyer whom has made a serious offer that isn’t the best offer we can get, but high enough for us to sell.  Buyer is pressuring us to sell otherwise he’ll withdraw; therefore, this is urgent and we don’t want to blow a sure thing."

The seller outlines why the domain is worth millions:

"All of eBay’s top competitors are publicly-traded companies even though they don’t have a fraction of eBay’s traffic. uBid (ranked #2 for "auction") generated $42.8 million in 2005. Overstock made $834 million in 2008 and listed on NASDAQ.  Bidz.com made $187 million in 2007 and also listed on NASDAQ.  These names aren’t nearly as brandable as Auction.com."

The seller says he already has had inquiries from Amazon and Yahoo and believes that $2.5 million is too low, but high enough not to turn it down. If you are interested in bidding you can email the seller direct at admin@wealth.am or call him at 1-253-797-9864.

It appears the domain has been sold to a Real Estate Auction copmpany called REDC. Look at http://www.auction.com now. The seller was not bluffing.
