Dolly Parton Says Success Is Hard WorkBy: Lindsay McCane - June 5, 2014
Dolly Parton is one of the most successful women of all time.
Not only is she a country music legend, she has had her fair share of time on the small and big screens.
While Parton is the epitome of success, getting there hasn’t always been easy. It has only been through her hard work and dedication that Dolly has been able to get to where she is today.
The 68-year-old American icon has fought through blood, sweat, and tears to be successful in the entertainment industry, but she says it has been worth every bit of the time and effort.
“I’ve dreamed myself into a corner, so I have to be responsible for all of the things I’ve dreamed and seen come true. I’ve been blessed that my dreams have come true. But there’s a bit responsibility. It’s wearing,” Parton told TNVZ.
“Sometimes you just physically and emotionally can’t hardly keep up,” Parton added. “You can’t say no exactly. It is how it is and even when you’re sick you can’t take the time to be sick, you have to plan around that. You have to maneuver.”
Most would say that Dolly has conquered all there is to conquer in the industry, however Dolly still has one thing that she would love to do; take on a serious acting role.
“I would someday love to find a really great role in a movie. One where I didn’t have the nails, wear high heels, the make-up. I would love to play a part that was worth tearing all that stuff up for,” she explained. “Something really, really good where I could really show that I could be a good actress. Most of the roles I play now are pretty much a version of my real self, but I think I could do some really serious acting with a great director.”
