“Dog with human face” isn’t something you hear everyday (unless it’s a photoshopped meme), but when a photo of a dog with soulful eyes hit Buzzfeed recently, it went viral.

Turns out the pup’s name is Tonik and he hails from a kill shelter in Kentucky, where he was rescued by the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group in Indiana. Authorities there say he’s a sweet-natured boy who gets along well with other dogs, and they’re hoping to find someone to adopt him.

        This dog’s face does not look human at all it looks like a terriers face and you can tell he has terrier in him..My dog a yorkie min pin mix has a face much like this nobody ever said he looks human…LOL

    I saw this dog back in July on Petfinder. I thought the same thing then, he looks like a person. I hope he finds a family soon, he has been waiting a very long time.

        He is probably half human and half human and half dog. He just needs a good loving home, so he won’t be sad. I wish I could adopt him, but I already have 2 that I adopted from the shelter. He is cute. I hope that somebody adopts soon.

      It dies look a little human, but its the eyes. He has very soulful eyes. Expressive. Our horse has the same kind of eyes. I can tell when he’s happy, sad, mad and feeling down just by looking into his eyes. They always light up when we come and call him to ride or just groom. I think he know’s I always have peppermints in my pocket for him. He’s just a soulful boy. And knows we love him.

Animals can’t breed outside of their species just like humans can’t breed outside of our species. It’s been scientifically proven. Sperm and eggs in all species have membrane proteins that recognizes same species gametes. Also we have to have the same number of chromosomes to procreate. Humans have 46 and dogs have 76. I really don’t know why I’m wasting time on you guys when you could have easily looked it up. “It happens all the time” you do know that phrase made you look completely ignorant, right? There has never been a human-animal hybrid.

    Why the fuss over a dog that is nothing but a dog? An animal that doesn’t know who apprecites it or not.     This dog is not ugly, shelters do not have time to give them proper hair cuts. Look into his eyes. I don”t want to hear just a dog again. I am so irritated at people that think dogs are just animals. I have small dogs, all with different personalities. One jumps on my lap and throws his head on my chest. If I have to find a home here for that dog I will start but it will take a special person, which I haven”t read from some of you.
