  • Diane Lane and Josh Brolin, who once epitomized the quintessential Hollywood power couple, will no longer be called a power couple. According to documents that were filed on November 27, 2013, in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the divorce has now been finalized. This marks the second divorce for Lane (her first marriage was to Christopher Lambert) as well as Brolin, who was previously married to Alice Adair. The couple separated earlier in the year, which surprised many fans who thought that the eight-year union was a solid marriage.

An undisclosed source who is close to the couple spoke with People toward the beginning of the year. “They’ve been separated for several months. This was a hard decision for both of them to make. The relationship just ran its course.” The relationship that began in 2002 through an introduction initiated by Barbara Streisand was cemented with a marriage in 2004.

Forty-eight-year-old Diane Lane reportedly had “Brolin” removed from her legal name. However, there appears to be no hard feelings. Forty-five-year-old Josh Brolin is adjusting well to the divorce and is still on friendly terms with his ex-wife. According to his father, James Brolin, the relationship ended under mutually-amiable terms. “He’s great. You know, everything is mutual. It’s all okay,” James said.

A close source spoke with Us Weekly, and echoed sentiments expressed by James Brolin. “It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over,” the source said.
