After nearly two years, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are finally ready to finalize their divorce. The papers have been signed by both parties and are set to be filed next week.
“Ashton and Demi have finally signed their divorce agreement,” a source close to the couple said. “They are about to file paperwork with the court that will formally end their marriage.”
They were married for six years before announcing their separating in 2011. The separation came after Moore found out about Kutcher's fling with the San Diego woman, Sara Leal.
Many have wondered why the divorce has taken so long to be finalized. It seems as though they could not reach an agreement that was satisfactory for both sides.
"There had been lengthy negotiations between lawyers for both sides about the financial settlement — in particular, how much he owed her from their marriage," another source said. “They have finally come to an agreement that was acceptable to all sides.”
The issue that halted the finalization of their divorce was how to split their combined $300 million fortune. Moore was originally seeking spousal support, however their current settlement does not include it.
"Demi introduced him to powerful friends that took Ashton under their wings," a source said. "He would not have been able to make so much money if he had not met them.
Kutcher is currently in a relationship with his "That 70s Show" co-star, Mila Kunis, and it seems to be getting pretty serious. "He's set on proposing to Mila," a source close to the Kutcher said. "He can't wait to start his life with her."
