Delicious Adds Bulk Editing Feature

Several Ways This Can Be Useful

Get the WebProNews Newsletter:

Delicious has introduced a "Bulk Edit" feature, that allows users to easily share, unshare, tag, and untag numerous bookmarks all at once. The feature is simply a way to make the social bookmarking service more usable.

Where Would This Come in Handy?

Delicious Bulk EditWell, Dave Dash gives a few examples on the Delicious blog:

- Editing holiday wishlists

- Sharing bookmarks you imported as private

- Marking private those NSFW bookmarks before you share your delicious age with mixed company

- Refining your tags for maximum awesomeness

One feature that is not available however, as one commenter points out, is the ability to bulk delete. This would actually be a useful feature as well, and Dash was kind enough to respond and hint that Delicious would be looking into this, and possibly include such a feature in the future. So do not be surprised when that comes.

dam bulk delete should have came out long before bulk edit. I have wanted that feature for years now. WTF delicious, who is in charge over there because they need to have the taste slapped out of their mouth.

thanks for the post, can’t wait to use it! What is your opinion regarding delicious?? This is a fantastic tool for me, but it could so much more user friendly if we had a real search function. Do you have any feature to suggest??

To be honest, I don’t use it much myself. I’ve considered getting more involved with it though, and features like this certainly can’t hurt.
