Deathstroke Is The Latest Addition To Injustice: Gods Among Us

Injustice: Gods Among Us is shaping up to be one of the most exciting fighting games of 2013. The DC Comics-based fighter has been slowly revealing its potentially large roster of characters over the last few months, and the newest addition has come to light today.

NetherRealm Studios announced today that Deathstroke is the latest character to join the roster in Injustice. He’s a popular character in DC canon that hasn’t received much exposure in video games beyond DC Universe Online and NetherRealm Studios previous DC effort – Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. Injustice will be the fifth official appearance of the character in video games.

In Injustice, Deathstroke will use his trademark guns and sword during combat. He can switch between both types of weapons quickly, and use them in conjunction with each other. His gameplay style seems like one of the more complicated shown so far, and it will be interesting to see how players use his arsenal.

As an aside, it would be super if NetherRealm included an alternate costume for Deathstroke that resembled his look from the Teen Titans animated series. It would be a nice shout out to fans even though Ron Perlman is sadly not voicing the character in the game.

Injusice: Gods Among Us will launch on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U in April 2013.

Definitely agree about the Teen Titan skin (or at least one close enough to avoid copyright infringement)! Shame Ron Perlman isn’t voicing him — practically grew up watching Teen Titans (and the animated series that came before it). Still, looks awesome. Can’t wait to see what they come out with next.

Copyright infringement wouldn’t be an issue as DC owns all of these characters and their designs. They could release a Teen Titan skin for Cyborg as well, but the more cartoony designs of the Teen Titans animated series might not go so well with the grim dark mood that Injustice is pushing.
