Dallas Clark To Retire With Colts

Tight end Dallas Clark will officially retire from the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center.

Clark will be signing a one-day contract with the Colts, the team that he spent nine of his eleven professional seasons with. Dallas will be the second player in Colts’ tenure in Indianapolis to re-sign and retire with the team.

“For the Irsay family and Colts family to do this is an honor, something I can’t thank anyone for enough,” Clark said in a statement. “It’s so special I can’t even express how awesome it is.”

Clark was selected by the Colts during the 2003 draft. During his time spent with the team he set the franchise record for having 427 receptions and 46 receiving touchdowns by a tight end.

According to the Colt’s press release, “For his 11-year NFL career, Clark finished with 505 receptions for 5,665 yards and 53 touchdowns in 143 games played (118 starts). Among tight ends, he ranks tied for sixth in NFL history in receiving touchdowns, tied for eighth in receptions and 15th in receiving yards.”
