Creflo Dollar, pastor of World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia and head of Creflo Dollar Ministries, was arrested Friday morning on charges of domestic violence. The Associated Press reports that an argument between Dollar and his daughter soon became physical, causing the teenager “superficial injuries”. Creflo was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children, both of which are misdemeanors. He was released on bond, and is expected to preach this Sunday.

The 15 year-old reportedly told investigators that her father charged and choked her after following her into the kitchen. Deputy reports stated that the Dollar “slammed her to the ground and began punching her and took his shoe off and started whooping her with it.” The pastor claims he was only trying to “spank” her.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Dollar explained, “As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”

World Changers Church International is considered a “megachurch”, which, by definition is “a church having 2,000 or more in average weekend attendance”. According to World Changers’ official website, Dollar’s ministry sports 30,000 members and nearly 6,000 weekly worshipers. The pastor himself has often been the center of controversy, drawing criticisms from many for his extravagance and his philosophy that prosperity is good.

WOW ! Now we can’t spank our children without them calling the cops… So tell me who will have the control of our children ? What a mess ! But then again it all starts young …

One cannot judge this man on how he handled this troubled child. Until you are there you don’t know what was going on in that household with her and this probably wasn’t the first time she acted out. Teenagers can be very difficult to raise.

  • diane

I think that the daughter was over reacting and making too much a deal over nothing. I still believe Creflo Dollar is a man of God. Period.

  • Wade

Good for Creflo Dollar! It’s time the parents started taking back this country. I have a 14 year old son and at times I want to knock him out. He knows I am capable and he knows at the right moment I will do it if necessary. These child psycologist don’t have a clue. TO HELL WITH ALL OF THEM! This girl probably deserved it. Her drama got her dad arrested. She wouldn’t see the light of day for a long time if it was me.

    • tlb

I’m no child psychologist, but I do have 5 children, 19, 15, 14, 12 and 4. Yeah, the older ones have mouths, but nothing they’ve said warranted a choking. That’s riduculous, especially to follow a child (yes, I said child) and choke them? Really? If it were a stranger choking her because she said something would that be okay too? What’s the difference? All this “drama” should have gotten him arrested.

      • D

Remember, the statements were taking from the 15 yr. Old’s version of what happened. When I heard and read the statements, I knew right away, the story was fabricated. He did all that, but nothing was said in the police report of her needing medical attention. Come on now!

  • Kathleen Ondrus

Creflo Dollar is still a man of God even with this misdemeanor on record, and may need “parenting Classes” because with my experience with having had 3 teenagers, life can be difficult.I suspect even for a man of God.At least he will learn how not to react negatively to a teenagers reaction to parental discipline.

    • D

Wrong!! But after his daughter realizes how fabricating the story and the negative results she will endure as well as her family, she will think twice. That’s what’s wrong with this generation. They act before thinking. Unappreciative and disrespectful and it’s not o.k!

  • becky

remember at the ages of 12 to 18 they want to be grown but they are not! some kids at this age will lie not saying all of them (but some)because they can not get their way!!! I have had the same experience as he did! the cops were also called! they could see right through what she was doing! they are looking more at this because he is not only a man of God, but he is in the Public eye! remember the devil is hard at work!!!!

    • Jerry W. King

Maybe Mr. Creflo ‘Gimme yo’ dollar can demand that tithe a little stronger next sunday and invest a little in Anger Management

      • David

        Jerry,
Mr. Dollar does not take any money from the church. He has no salary, no kickbacks, nothing. All his money is earned from his business enterprises, such as books, recordings, real estate, etc.

      • D

I guess you’re one of those Godly folks, whose use to seeing ministers Dow n out and broke. It’s always the big mouth, don’t know the facts, always got an opinion, who has the most to say about somebody else’s life. As for many other mega church ministers, the church is not their only source of income, they’re authors, movie directors, singing artists, etc. People always got opinions and don’t know Jack! How do you make your money?

If parents were given control of their own kids, there would be better kids in the world. Kids have too much rights and parents none. They do get spanked. The cops spanks them in jail and some end up dead or brutalized. I guess that is the right way to go. When my kids were young I spanked their but. I was the mom and they were the child. I fed, clothed, house and love you. I ruled things. And they knew if they called the cops i was sending them right back to my country on a one way ticket. I wasn’t taking them, I see them off on the plain and that was it.SeeYA!!

  • Nate

The law has no problem getting envolve when you discipline your children especialy the black children, and even less of a problem arresting them and chargeing them as adults as young as age 13 for crimes.

    • Ruby

      Nate:

I agree with you. The laws are in place for the police to shoot our children down, taser them, beat them into submission without any regard for their life, but if a parent chastizes the child, they are put in jail. No wonder there are so many children in prison.

      The Bible says:

“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15).

“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die” (Proverbs 23:13).

“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother” (Proverbs 1:8).

“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die” (Proverbs 23:13).

“Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell” (Proverbs 23:14).

“There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother” (Proverbs 30:11).

“And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death” (Exodus 21:17).

  • Wisdom

I now have a greater respect for Creflo. He is human and has the same struggles of any other parent with teenagers in pubity. Get over it World!!!

    • Ruby

“For the son dishonoreth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house” (Micah 7:6).

Unfortunately, the world is going to see more of this type of thing because of the laws that have been put in place for the children to dishonor their parents in the most aggregrious of ways. Children do not like discipline!!! However, the Bible says:

“Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee” (Deuteronomy 5:16)

“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15).

“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die” (Proverbs 23:13).

  • rev.castillo

  • Kay Green

Another source is reporting that the wife witnessed the event and called the police.Creflo should not have handled his child that way. That was not a godly, fatherly response…..

    • D

Wow!!! I guess he should of let his daughter go out in harm’s way, disrespect him and his household rules, and act like a spoil brat! Like the new generation today. Know it alls, disrespectful, out of control, etc. And had the police picked her up on the street and returned her home dead or alive, then the same negative remarks would be turned around and say “what kind of dad is he for letting his 15 yr. Old. Go out to a party! Or Where’s the discipline? Or “and he calls himself a preacher?!

  • Godwin

Congratulations Pastor Dollar. It is the responsibility of a parent to discipline and raise the children in a godly way. In my country, we have a saying that goes like this “Whoever is not taught by the parents will be taught by the world”. If parents good be allowed to discipline their children, the world would be a better place. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Much respect to you Pastor Dollar!

  • gessica

Leave the man of God alone. He is is human like everybody else and he has the right to protect his children from the corruption of this world. You people do not know what has been going on in this household with a disrespectful tenager who abused the bad system in this country where the parents do not have any control over their kids bcause of that system is the reasons they end up in jail with all the killing and everything else. And the same police they call are the same ones who are going to make them spend their whole life in jail. Everyone has anger even jesus was mad in the temple when people goes over their limit and touch your last bottom. We need to pray for that daughter so she can repent herself for what she causes her father to b end up in jail today which is a bad reputation for that family and for her congregation also. Bcause we do not want to see the same thing which happened in florida where a tenager had his father arrested and put in jail bcause he was talking to him for his own good but he like his friends more than his dad and listen to them. and where is he now. in hell burning with his friends. AS a man of God he do not want people to point finger at her daughter for what she b doing which do not please the family and they have a prestige to protect in this society. You people do not know what kind of words she said to his father. Dont you see these days that.s the devil is working very hard in this world and specially to our children and which make it wrost America took the word of God from our public schools and everyone is turning to drugs to cope with difficulties in life insteat of turning to the Jesus-Christ our saviour. I hope this matter will b over soon and life goes on. I think that girl gots things too easy for her. they need to send her to one of the poor country where she will learn how u do not have food to eat and clothes to wear may b her life style is too at ease. She needs to learn the hard way and apologize to her father. may God bless all of you

  • Gideon Mwololo

Jesus clearly prophesied that in the last days , children will betray their parents(Luke 21:16-18) . This is a practical case of Laws that give children the right to report their parents when they are disciplined. Are we going to follow God’s Law or man’s law . As a parent , Dr Dollar has a right to discipline his children. He loves her that is why he did it .

    • Ruby

Parents have a right to discipline their children and the government needs to stay out of it!!!

At 1:00 A.M., Nothing is Open but Legs!!!

      The Bible says:

“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die” (Proverbs 23:13).

“Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell” (Proverbs 23:14).

“There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother” (Proverbs 30:11).

Honor thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise) (Ephesians 6:2)

  • dianne

dear pastor creflo you did what we got in 60 they did not care what you are do we got broom handle up on the side of head electic cord when lest expect tree swithch that what you call child abuse they want dress thing up now.

  • David

I have a daughter who was similar. She would regularly dissappear at night, constantly yell and disrespect me, and purposely start fights to get attention then call the police. AND I certainly don’t trust any media! They just want the hype to get their own attention.

  • Paula

When the police came out to his house they should have taken his daughter in for disrespecting her father. She should have been placed in a juvenile center over night to see what happens to kids who disrespect their parents and caregivers. The conversation should have went something like this, ” Oh really, you called on your dad, Oh hell no! At fifteen you want to go to a party, you can’t drink, drive, smoke or vote and he is responsible for you, you are coming with us”.

    • Desi’re

Not only should she had been taken to jail, but they should have told the daddy to whip her again to teach her a lesson. If she had of been mines she would not have been allowed to remain in my house if my husband had to go to jail. She would of been going to jail also!Disrespectful children should not have the pleasure to see the AUTHORITY of my house go to jail. What disrespect are the police showing towards the Authority in the house?
This law begin when they took the rights away from us from spanking our children, and now because of it our children our ruin.

  • Sylvia

I feel that anyone who raised or lived with a 15year old know the raging hormones that propel them into doing and saying ridiculous, disrespectful things. “Lil girl please”! Thank you Pastor for doing your job so the police won’t have to. We’re praying for your family! Go to bed Lil girl!

    • Desi’re

I agree! That’s why many of them are dying everyday, because the Parents are not investing the right things in their life. All those games and fighting is babysitting these youngsters today. Invest DISCIPLINE and TRUE LOVE to them then they will learn RESPECT.

  • BuddyD

I know this money grubbing idiot. I picketed his church and gave many people a book called the lie of the tithe and a Benny Hinn video exposing Hinn I spent years publicly confronting hypocrites like Creflo, Pat Robertson, jerry fallwell copeland, jan and paul crouch if there is a preacher in the states I have visited them openly many times. E

Each time I confronted them openly they hid and every member got what they deserved they are all brainwashed lifeless followers of men and money … not god. Creflo is a rat he will make it look ike he is keeping his family together in “these troubled times” The kids know the truth and mommy will back daddy because he is the meal ticket and the congregation will drink the puke like dogs returning to vomit

Religion is right bro, its just wrong when money becomes the soul focus of your ministry. The black church gave blacks the strengh and focus to overcome Slavery and Oppression. But today Pastors like Dollar,Long(whos homosexual tendencies has been swept under the rug)have diverted from the Black Churches traditional role as an activist for social justice to Big Business. While less than a block from any Mega-church with large black female head-of-households in attendance. a young black male is being murdered or a young African-American mother and her young children are hungry or in need of clothing. When I grew up in Alabama the Black Church was the Backbone of the Community, Some Mega-Churches today have strayed from Savior to Bloodsucker!!!

And how many lives have you led to Christ. And people have you fed and ministered too. You must be related to Sees.

    • Desi’re

You will reap the honor from the words you have spoken, and the out come will come straight from God the Father!!! Consider a fool who speaks without wisdom shall drink from the same fountain you have said the man of God would eat from.

  • sees

religion is wrong and this guy is a moron

  • CLB

I have been watching Creflo Dollar on the screen for yrs. It appeared that he had everything in check, I do know children can get out of hand and mouthy sometime. I had two boys and one girl, and I know that things can get off of track @ times, but @ 15 she had a right to want to go but with her not taking care of herself, that’s when creflo had to step in as daddy and do his duty, and as a single parent, I had to kick butt and ask questions later, due to the fact that I was the money maker of the family. So Pastor Dollar keep up the good work, May God bless you,Taffi, and family.

    • http://yahoo/facebook Dwight Spears

We love and praise and thank GOD for our every blessing, but if you keep strong faith and do good deeds for God,prosperity will be given. It takes money to live, but when it becomes an addiction and the soul focus our your daily transgressions,Doesn”t matter wetther you the Dopeman or the Preacher, loving it is pure EVIL.

    • Desi’re

All these teen-age children need to be more disciplined and no, I don’t care how old they are a child is to listen to their parents while living in their house. Those children who decide they don’t have to need to get out!! Get Out!!! No child has the right to leave when he/she want to when their under age. I say; No matter what continue to discipline Her and if needed take it further according to prayer and the instructions of God.

  • J Benton

I don’t give a good damn how many people this brute has led to Christ – NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BEAT A KID. He needs to spend time in the slammer and have his parental rights taken away.

    • Shavonne R

It’s people like you that give good parents a bad name. The problem with parents today is that they’re too scared to discipline a child because of what others might view it as. Maybe if more kids in today’s society get spankings then we wouldn’t have a lot of teen violence. Clearly your views are messed up so I will be praying for your deliverance. MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!

    • Desi’re

First of all God spoke from the beginning about disciplining your child and not sparing the rod. God did in the old testament stone many for disobedient children. Sin still will not remain in the presence of God. So these children need to read where it says; that they are to honor there father and mother that their days will be longer. This is why so many of them are dying prematurity daily by the minutes. So train up your own children accordingly before you judge somebody else.
Another thing is these children don’t need to be partying with WORLDLY PEOPLES at all; and in the old testament going to the new we are to participate with three Festivals that are still so today. Train up thy children in thy word and they will never leave from that teaching. Disrespectful children MUST be DISCIPLINE!!!!

  • Alister

We need to look at this at a different angle. As ministers unfortunately the home becomes neglected when trying to help build the homes of others. Ironic isn’t it. He should use this opportunity to build his home stronger than ever, and directly take care of his family. The courts would decide on the domestic matter in the mean time. So do the right thing and leave him to God.

  • D

He did and is doing the right thing. Disciplining his child, keeping the public out his business, forgiving and loving his daughter despite of, and continuing his ministry as is. People are quick to criticize and condemn. It seems they know everything about every bodies lives.. How others make their money, support their families, raise their children, religion, what goes on in their homes, and what they would do. However; when do these people broadcast their personal business, how much they make, their faults and mistakes, or tell their secrets? They seem to have all the answers, except when it comes to their own lives. It’s not up to us to judge others. God knows our hearts and minds and he’ll deal accordingly. For the rest of us, who weren’t there and can relate, we’ll pray for Creflo Dollar as a man, who also happens to be a husband, father, leader, cousin, uncle, brother, minister, entrepreneur, author, and a child of God for peace and wisdom.

15 year old girls aren’t drama queens????? Mmhumm… And I suppose chickens moo and ducks bark!!!! Anyone who hasn’t had a bout with their own “Teenage Drama Queen” doesn’t have a daughter and need to go sit down and be quiet!!!! They simply do not exist!!! The media will take an ant hill and superimpose it as Mount Everest!!!! Unless you see the image for yourself and have been to Mount Everest you’ll believe whatever they tell you!!!! Time out jus’ don’t work!!!!! You can look at the over run prison system and see that statement is true!!!! My kids had the fear of God put into their behind, just like I did… They are both successful hard working young adults with a promising future!!!! Kids are given too many avenues to make their own decisions and as a result have no boundaries!!!! We need to get back to the basics do life and let them know right from wrong then the prison population will start to decrease…. Really folks….Go deal with your own, and when they turn out perfect you’ll be qualified to tell someone else how to raise their kids!!!!! In the meantime, shush that trap!!!!

  • http://Google Alice Ware Adams

When children dis-respect their parents, there must be some accountability established… We must not let them just do as they please, their rules that must be established and when they are broken there must be consequences… Our children know just how to challenge our parenting capabilities… I’m afraid when they rebel when we tell them NO and react it makes us also react, I’m not saying that we should, however, love isn’t having your way, the parent has the authority until the child is on his or her own!!!We don’t want them to be juvenile delinquents, so I’m with Creflo, God’s the final authority in our houses, we must lean on him for wisdom and guidance… I hope the child learns…We raised a family of 4 and not without chastisement…My husband was more easy-going than I, I”m proud of being a parent, thats my most wonderful accomplishment, I thank God for my children…
