  • Courtney Love has reportedly announced plans for a biopic about the life of Kurt Cobain, and says she, their daughter Frances Bean, and the two remaining members of Nirvana will have input regarding casting and the production.

Although Love hasn’t revealed many details about who might play the beloved musician, she did say that there are plenty of handsome young men who are in the running.

“The biopic should start within the next year or so. CAA (Creative Artists Agency) directly sent me actors’ (demo) reels. That was really tough because these boys are so pretty, so cute. I won’t name names because I don’t want to jinx it for anyone but these are 25-year-olds who are blond, gorgeous and the new Brad Pitts. There’s a ton of those. Some are really good actors, not just pretty faces,” she said.

Despite all the interest in getting the film made, Courtney says she would rather be behind the scenes and let someone else make final decisions, simply because she doesn’t want to be used.

“Some beautiful blond, tragic, gorgeous actor boy is hitting on me, and why? He wants to play Kurt. So I am moving that over to the agency side. I am not Cecil B. DeMille or anything like that. I don’t want to be the producer per se,” she said.

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic will also reportedly have a say in how the film is put together. A movie about Cobain’s life has been tossed around for a long, long time, and back in 2010 Grohl said he wanted Shelley Duvall to portray him on the big screen.

“Shelley Duvall in The Shining …That is MY face, you cannot get any closer than that,” he said.

Love can next be seen in the upcoming season of Sons Of Anarchy.
