CNN and all other reporting agencies across the entire spectrum of Political Reporting suck up to what all the politicians wish to say. They make demi-gods of them. In fact, there is no such thing as a democracy. If there was, you and I would have a vote on every new law that some political imbecile wishes to enforce upon us. We are actually captives, slaves if you like, to the politicians who only represent big business. The common folk are nothingness.
Was I asked to vote on weather we send troups to Afghanistan, Iraq or East Timor ?
Was I similarly asked if guantonimao bay were allowed to exist in the way it has ?

One day, maybe we can truly be proud of a word called “democracy.”

Facebook and social networks are just as if not more an unreliable source of news. Also, the user count on them is bloated and fake, since many people make multiple accounts on them. 500 million on facebook? Yeah right. Kids these days make plenty of fake accounts to ‘troll’ – Adults make fake accounts to spy on suspected cheating partners etc..

Basically, I believe none of them to give clear, unbiased, reliable news without an agenda to push.

  3. Another Who doesn't watch the news

Nowadays, it’s obvious to most people that major news media sources are not much more than puppets for the government. People are smarter than that and turned to those they trust. Hey CNN, if you want to be the biggest name in news or the most trusted source… YOU HAVE TO REPORT THE NEWS, not just what the government tells you to report.
I won’t spend a dime on the lies and BS that is perpetuated by major news media. The people have spoken and your time is coming.

    “two million people watching Fox”

No wonder CNN is losing more and more market share to Fox News. They think only two million are watching Fox. LOL! He’s only off by a factor of ten.

social media does sometimes give individuals a voice who actually have something relevant to say. the vast majority of what goes on with social media is pointless dreck like what i’m going to do saturday night and such. more often than not it’s just a platform for the underappreciated raving loon element of society.

maybe we’ll grow up and actually derive real benefits from social media someday but that is a long ways off imho.

No offense but the news is always and always WILL be what they want you to hear. You could lock yourself up in a room for a day and know exactly whats going on in the world by listening to facebook statuses and tweets, and they are coming from real people, not a centralized news station that tries to tell you what you want to hear.

  7. CNN uses Twitter and I follow them. Yes grant it that any media has to be taken with a grain of salt, but following Twitter news feeds is similar to getting it as an RSS except that you can pick and choose what you want to read. I personally, see it as a way for the Media, and the public to create news! It is good they feel threatened, but it is the digital that is the wave of the future, they are utilizing it, they just need to make sure they continue to change with the times.

And nobody ever lies in an internet post. LOL!!! The internet has huge amounts of libel and slander that run rampant. Lawyers then ask for $10,000.00 to defend an innocent victim, so if you are not rich your life gets destroyed there isn’t a thing a innocent victim can do about it except be stupid and defend yourself with posts. Then you get into a “pissing match” with the blood of your reputation spread all over the net. Then try to find a job while your potential employer is searching up that lying tripe. Sound like quality jornalisim? Ohh that is sooo much better than media news LOL!!! Maybe the major media has been bought off but they don’t ruin people like that. Wake up people the net is out of control and is no panacea. Just look at the crazy comments in this thread. Some of them are true and hold merit. Some are off the wall!

  9. I’m sure this isn’t a new development. The internet has been far better for news for years.

Established Media and Big Business and Big Government – they are all one happy family. Social Media is the only way the small individuals – you and me – have a voice. This voice should grow into a crescendo so that it drowns the sickening propaganda being dished out as “news”, 24/7 on TV and newspapers. Do we trust you Mr. CNN? We never did and never will.

  11. What is everybody? Retarded?

In the immortal words of those Rasin Dancing guys… “I heard it through the grape vine…”

Oh… We are so revolutionary. The next the presindent addresses the nation, screw it, I’m hittin up farmville and chattin it up with the Turkish spambots.

This generation sucks… Not in a bitter way, or in way in which I feel betrayed, but in a completely f’n sad way…

  12. Griffin

Well, if they’re worried about it…GOOD!
We all know the news is bought off and lies all the time.
If they want to regain their title of trusted source they should cut the crap and give us real news, not what the gov tells them to say or what companies pay them to say…tell it like it is.
I am not one who’ll be sad if they all go down the drain..I don’t trust them anyways..no loss to me.

  13. Klein and CNN have good reason to watch their backs. Today every company is a newsroom, using the same channels the big networks once held high: video, press releases, feature stories, interviews, white papers, social media etc.

In a world of content marketing, “real news” looks more and more like entertainment and businesses and bloggers (even micro bloggers) are creating real news with a real point of view and analysis.

  14. Yea good, the media does lie alot, now the people can spread information like wild fire.

And another point – why are the big news companies sitting on their hands – you have all the money – why are you not making new technology? Because your a bunch of old men with no good ideas… so you deserve to lose your spots as top dogs if you cant fight off the competition and adapt, come up with new ideas…

  15. Roy

Good. As long as they leave Foxnews alone. Get rid of that CNN, Msnbc crap already. Go Facebook!

  16. Good, power to the people!
