Christina Milian’s has just dropped a new song and it’s all about her new love, Lil Wayne.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 33-year-old sultry singer talked about her long-awaited single “Rebel” and gushed about her relationship with the rapper.
The Turned Up star coyly admitted that the song “is about the man in my life.”
“There’s nothing better than that feeling of new chemistry when you’re so into someone and you could care less about what anyone else thinks… and there’s butterflies,” Milian shared. “It’s a real feeling that people experience.”
And if the accompanying video is any indication, then her relationship with Lil Wayne is dreamy, steamy and going strong.
The video showcases the singer surrounded by a large, ethereal parachute which Alton Glass, the video’s director explains as “sort of like diving into the sheets.”
“It's like a seduction,” the director added. “Christina Milian just takes you on this journey."
The song’s title is also significant to the singer who explained what being a rebel for someone means.
“It’s that careless, hopeless, romantic love,” she said. “That feeling of ‘I will do anything for you’ and it’s just incredible and so yea, ‘rebel for you’ means ‘I’m all about you.”
The Bring It On actress and the 32-year-old Wayne have been dating since July. And while the relationship seems serious, the couple has kept it relatively low-key.
When asked about their plans for the future Milian, who was married once before, was evasive but hopeful.
“You never know, I mean, love does inspire beautiful things like that,” she said. “I don’t put too much pressure on one thing but I’m just living freely with him and we’re both very happy.”
But what she does know for sure is that she’ll be working with Wayne in her first album in 10 years.
