  • Carrie Underwood and her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, welcomed a baby boy to their world on Saturday. Of course whenever celebrities announce the birth of a baby, the first question that comes to mind involves the new baby’s name. Fortunately Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher were wise when naming their son. Not only did they choose a beautiful name, they also chose one he will never be embarrassed about in the future.

Carrie Underwood shared word of the blessed event via an Instagram photo she shared with her many followers.

“Tiny hands and tiny feet…God has blessed us with an amazing gift! Isaiah Michael Fisher – born on February 27. Welcome to the world, sweet angel!” she captioned the precious shot of their baby boy’s tiny hand.

Carrie Underwood announced her pregnancy back on Labor Day. She very creatively captioned that photo, “In honor of “Labor” Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn’t be happier…”

Last month, Carrie Underwood had to miss the Grammy Awards when she wasn’t able to fly to L.A. because of her advanced pregnancy. She received a Grammy that night for Best Country Solo Performance for her gospel-tinged bit song, “Something in the Water.” Underwood is a devout Christian.

Congratulations are no doubt coming Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher’s way from fans, friends, and family members from around the world. It will be interesting to learn how long the American Idol winner will stay at home with baby Isaiah before returning to the recording studio or the concert stage.
