Brooks Ayers recently revealed to his girlfriend, Real Housewives veteran Vicki Gunvalson, that he has stage three cancer.
Vicki admitted that when Brooks Ayers broke the news to her, she “just burst into tears.”
In a joint interview with Us Weekly, the on-again-off-again couple spoke of the struggle they now face and how they plan to face it together.
Brooks Ayers has non-Hodgkin lymphoma for the third time since first fighting it back in 2009.
The couple revealed that they are now living together and have been dating for a year with no off-again time.
“[Cancer] either will tear you apart as a couple or bring you together. And with us, without a doubt, it’s brought us together,” Brooks Ayers explained.
Gunvalson chimed in, “So, yes, we are exclusive, we are dating, we are together. It’s official.”
Gunvalson’s daughter, Briana, has always taken issue with Brooks Ayers and that might possibly be a thorn in the side of the couple. However, they don’t seem to be too bothered by it now that they have much bigger issues to deal with.
“Briana and I, we’ve kind of agreed to disagree on this one subject,” Gunvalson said.
In fact, she didn’t even know that Brooks Ayers is living with her mother.
Vicki said, “She doesn’t know Brooks is in, but I guess she will now!”
That little bit may not help matters, but at least Brooks Ayers is ready to try and make things right with Briana.
Brooks Ayers said he is “ready and willing” to make peace with Vicki’s daughter, should he be “given the appropriate opportunity to apologize to her, face to face.”
“She deserves that,” he added.
