Yes, she just released “Perfume,” but it's actually not a fragrance. It's a new single from her highly anticipated new album, “Britney Jean.” Earlier today, the Grammy award-winning singer took to her Facebook and Twitter timelines to announce the release of her new single, “Perfume.”
The record is be the second release from Spears, eighth studio album. The emotionally driven song was produced by legendary pop artist, Will.I.Am, and written by “Wild Ones” singer, Sia Furler.

Spears recently posted a letter to her fans on her official website in reference to the famed production team accredited for the record."Working with people like Sia, William Orbit, and of course will.i.am has been an amazing experience. They have listened to all of my ideas and helped me bring them to life. There are a lot of really fun, upbeat dance songs, but it was important to me that I show my strength, and my attitude, and my vulnerability. Of course, I also have some surprises for you guys ;)”
However, the song is much more endearing to the “Womanizer” singer, as opposed to being just another potential hit single. Spears also opened up about the significance of the record in the letter to her fans. She shared quite a bit regarding just how much the record actually means to her. “'Perfume' is incredibly special to me because it hits close to home, and I think the story is relatable to everyone," admitted Spears. “Everyone's been through an insecure moment in a relationship that's left them vulnerable and I think this song captures that."
Spears upcoming album, “Britney Jean,” is scheduled to be released Dec. 3, 2013. But, the album isn't all you'll see of the “Hold it Against Me” singer this year. According to E! News, Spears will also reveal her two-year residency show, “Piece of Me,” which will take place at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, this December.
