No XP SP3 Until 2008

Windows XP Service Pack 3 won't show until the first half of 2008, according to Microsoft's Service Pack Roadmap page.

It reads, in the sections for XP Home and Business:

SP3 for Windows XP [] Edition is currently planned for 1H CY2008. This date is preliminary.

Mary Jo Foley reminds us that, back in January, Microsoft said to expect the update in the latter half of 2007. Shame on the delay, but SP3 will anyways likely be a "hardening" update, one designed to secure XP systems that don't upgrade to Vista, and not a feature update. However, SP3 may include some products Microsoft wants to roll out to XP users as well as Vista, like the next update to Internet Explorer.
