If you're a subscriber to Engadget or Gizmodo, or both, there's a new gadget site to add to your reading list - CrunchGear.

This is the latest expansion by Michael Arrington who started TechCrunch in June 2005 and which has rapidly gained a pre-eminent position as one of the most influential and authoritative sources on the net about technology and business. TechCrunch today has over 94,000 subscribers to its RSS feed.

What can we expect from CrunchGear? It will be different to other Gadget blogs, says Michael: [] Expect CrunchGear to look like something between a pure blog and CNET Reviews. Our goal isn't just to let you know about the hot new stuff coming out soon, but to also help you decide what kind of camera, laptop or MP3 player you want to buy as well. There are a lot of new gadgets to hit the market every day, so expect a lot of posts on CrunchGear.The site has got off to a good start, with ten posts in the past two days from the writing team.

Arrington is building quite a publishing network around the TechCrunch brand which now comprises eight properties - CrunchGear, CrunchBoard Jobs, CrunchNotes, TalkCrunch, MobileCrunch, TechCrunch en Franais, TechCrunch Japan and TechCrunch.
