The latest version of Google Desktop Search (the one with the evil "your data on Google's servers" feature, paranoid ass) has left beta.
Included with the latest version is a new feature: Hit the CTRL key twice and the Quick Search Box appears in the center of the screen and lets you search, complete with live search. A great new feature, and heavy users of desktop should rejoice.
