Bigfoot, that ever-elusive man-monster of the woods, is up there with Nessie as mythical creatures go. Everyone wants to be the one to snap a photo, to capture evidence of its existence. Next January, it could happen, and a former Superman is involved.

Dean Cain has signed on to host Spike TV's "10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty", a show that follows nine teams of Bigfoot enthusiasts who have spent their lives trying to prove the creature is real as they embark on an adventure that starts in the Pacific Northwest. Every week, the teams will travel to a new spot where people have claimed to have seen him. Using state-of-the-art equipment, the hunters will be able to "track" the creature using DNA samples.

According to the press release:

"An avid outdoorsman and hunter, Cain will serve as the expedition leader helping the teams of "squatchers" as they use their skills to compete for a $10 million dollar prize. Each episode will follow the different teams as they search some of the most famous Bigfoot "hotzones" in America. Utilizing a state-of-the-art mobile DNA lab, teams will ply their extensive research and presumed knowledge of the legendary creature to collect scientific samples, often battling nature's inhospitable conditions."

The show will be produced by Original Media, who also did "Swamp People" and "LA Ink".
