Bette Midler says she's still waiting for a call from "Glee" producers after an offer to appear on the show was publicly extended but never followed up on.
Ryan Murphy, the show's creator, famously asked Midler to make a guest appearance when the two shared a stage at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards ceremony in October; he later seemed to realize the enormity of what he'd done and tweeted about it.
I just asked the incredible Bette Midler to be on Glee in front of 1,000 people. I hope she says yes!

Apparently the show's writers are still figuring things out, because no definite plans have been made for Midler's spot. She seems ready to go, however, and even has a suggestion as to who she should play.
"Maybe I could play Sue Sylvester's evil sister," she said.
Midler has made several appearances on shows over the past few years, including a performance on "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing On Ice", but it's been a while since she took on an acting role. Fans are anxiously awaiting the confirmation.
