Ben Affleck has taken lots of ribbing over a giant tattoo he has sported on his back since early March. A large bird, raising its wings as though about to take flight, the ink appears to be that of a phoenix.

Even the Phoenix Suns got in on the Ben Affleck bashing earlier this month.

Both ex-wife Jennifer Garner and ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez hate the tattoo.

Fortunately, for all the Ben Affleck tattoo haters, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star shared in a recent interview with Extra's Mario Lopez that the giant tattoo on his back is fake. The alleged ink is for an upcoming movie role.

“I actually do have a number of tattoos...but I try to have them in places where you don’t have to do a lot of cover up...they get sort of addictive, tattoos, after awhile," he told the Extra host.

Are you glad to learn that the giant phoenix on Ben Affleck's back isn't a real tattoo?

Fans can check out Ben Affleck--sans the tattoo--when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters nationwide on March 25.
