Avril Lavigne burst onto the scene in 2002 with her first album at the age of 17; dubbed a "punk rock" cutie by the media and revered by the Hot Topic set, she enjoyed quite a bit of success both in the States and in her native Canada.
Nowadays, she's a little more grown up and is preparing for a new phase in life. Though her marriage to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger this Saturday was her second--she married Sum 41's Deryck Whibley in 2006, and they divorced in 2010--she says it's influenced her writing and will be apparent on her new album, All Over The Place.
Lavigne hasn't revealed photos of the big day yet, but she did say a while back that she was designing her own wedding gown and wanted to plan the nuptials so that the day was perfect for everyone...not just her.
"The best part about the wedding is the location," she said. "I want to make sure I really enjoy this amazing time and I want all the guests who come to have this once in a lifetime experience. I want everyone to say 'Wow!' and for it to be special for everyone, not just us."
The couple took their vows in the South of France on Saturday, and Kroeger, who has never been married before, said he let his bride run with it.
"I sit back and I take a lot of the things that are presented to me, and I look at them on paper, and when I'm asked my opinion, I offer it very gently," he told E! News in May. "That's the smartest thing I can possibly do because that big day is not about me. That big day is about her."
