Sunday I’ll be taking off to San Jose for a week at Search Engine Strategies. Earlier this year I spoke at SES New York, but in San Jose I’ll be going as press. Which means I get a free pass and I’m expected to write about my experience. That’s a decent trade-off!
SEMpdx Searchfest Ok, this one has come and gone but I wanted to provide a short debrief. I have to say that I had a fantastic time. Searchfest marked my one-year anniversary speaking at conferences. They opened the door for me at Searchfest 2007 and were kind enough to invite me back this year. Boy, am I glad they did.
Wiep Knol put together a fantastic document on internal and external linking values.
On Friday the team and I returned from PubCon 2008. I have to say that PubCon is one of those events I look forward to every year (even though this is only my second year!).
For SEO conferences, PubCon is easily the least expensive one. But on an ROI level, it is also easily one that provides the most bang for your buck.
Here are a few sessions that I enjoyed the most:
I’m sitting in the last session, just having posted my incredibly week synopsis of what the speakers addressed. My BFF, with the hottest last name in SEO (Jennifer Laycock) is still telling her story. Maybe the Q & A will be better.
Industry Track, Wednesday 3:15 - 4:30 PM
I had “intended” to go to the Putting Search in the Marketing Mix Session at 1:30 today, but I was too busy partying with my bud Jennifer Laycock and the rest of the Search Engine Guide gang. And I finally got to lay eyes on the elusive Robert Clough, that handsome man that he is. It was a pleasure being among a group of people, all smarter, more knowledgeable and better writers than I. But I had the coolest shirt, so it all evens out!
