iPod and Blackberry Listed as Most Prized Possession

Only 1% of people regard their wedding ring as their most valued asset,  accroding to a survey  carried out on Facebook in August on behalf of insurance firm Protect Your Bubble, with 12% of the 500 respondents voting for their iPods as their most prized possession, just outdoing the Blackberry, which received 11.5% of the votes.

Meanwhile, cars were the favourites of only 4% of people on the social network. Dogs got 9% of the vote and cats received 5%.

A Funny and Interesting Look Into iPhone Insurance Claims

‘I dropped it from a hot air balloon’ and ‘my dog mistook it for his favourite toy and chewed it to bits’ are among the bizarre insurance claims made for lost and damaged iPhones over the last 12 months, it emerged yesterday.

Other unusual claims include ‘I lost it while skydiving’, ‘I dropped it in a blender’ and ‘It fell into the kettle’.

The weird and wonderful claims came to light in a study by gadget insurers www.protectyourbubble.com.

Study Shows British Population Trusts Internet More Than Friends

Brits trust the internet more than friends and colleagues when it comes to handing over personal information, according to a study published today by data storage specialists NetApp.

The research, which polled 3000 adults, revealed that while the average adult freely divulges a string of personal details on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, most would not give friends or colleagues their PIN number.

The Social Network is an upcoming 2010 drama film directed by David Fincher about the founding of Facebook, I saw the trailer for it yesterday at the Cinemas and it reminded me a little of The Pirates of Silicon Valley Movie (1999), a film about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

Anyhow The Social Network film features an ensemble cast which consists of Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Rashida Jones, Max Minghella, Rooney Mara, Malese Jow, and Joseph Mazzello.

New Look for MSN on Mobile Phones

Google Maps Street View

Well it looks like the previous rumours of Google Maps Street View are coming true, Google today announced at the Where 2.0 conference, that they have added a new feature called “Street View” in certain locations on Google Maps. As well as this, starting today, Google is also adding developer-created gadgets called “Mapplets” to Google Maps.

Over a Million Zunes Sold
There are no official figures yet, but it has been revealed in an interesting interview with Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division, that they have sold a little over a million Zunes, which is pretty cool considering it’s not even the end of June, which Microsoft had set as their original target for selling a million players.

During a recent Halo 3 event, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President, Microsoft Game Studios – Shane Kim revealed that he has spent some time with the Linden Lab guys (developers of Second Life).
