  • AT&T announced this week that it has become the official wireless provider for The Walt Disney Company’s theme parks, including Disneyland and Disney World.

As part of the agreement, AT&T will get Disney-related marketing and branding opportunities, including sponsorship of events at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Disney “Cast Members” (employees) will soon be suing AT&T’s network for mobile devices and will also receive education about AT&T’s anti-texting-and-driving campaign.

AT&T will also expand its wireless network in Disneyland and Disney World. The carrier plans to deploy more than 25 distributed antenna systems, 350 small cells, 40 repeaters to expand its network in Disney’s U.S. parks. It also plans to place 10 cell sites across the Walt Disney World Resort.

“This is a great combination,” said Andy Geisse, CEO of AT&T Business Solutions. “Bringing AT&T’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network and mobile connectivity to one of the most creative companies on earth is something we’re excited about. I’m confident Disney’s guests and Cast Members will be thrilled with the experience we deliver.”
