Ashley Judd, whose new drama/action thriller “Missing” debuted on ABC recently, has taken some harsh criticism for her looks this week.

The 43-year old Kentucky-born actress was photographed during a press tour for the show earlier this week looking a bit puffy, and various media outlets immediately reported that she’d had work done on her face. Radaronline.com even took the liberty of interviewing a plastic surgeon, whose opinion was that she had recently had a procedure done and the puffiness was likely due to swelling of tissues. Dr. Anthony Youn said, “I am flabbergasted that she appears to have changed her face like this.”

Judd, however, maintains that she has been on steroids to combat a severe sinus infection, which are causing the swelling. She tweeted on the 15th:

@CassandraProbe I know, steriods r dramatic. My clothes don’t fit right, hard on a girl’s self esteem, so lots of positive self talk & love.(image) 1 day ago via web ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

A rep for the actress, Cara Tripicchio, told E!Online, “For the record, this is unequivocally not true. Ashley has been battling an ongoing, serious sinus infection and flu. Therefore, she has been on a heavy dose of medication to overcome it so she could get on a plane and travel to Toronto and New York to fulfill her commitment of completing four consecutive days of press to promote her new show Missing.”

Do you think Ashley had work done, or is this just the media putting their spin on things? Let us know in our comments section.

Ashley Judd’s moon face is quite typical for anyone on high dose steriods. The condition is called Cushings syndrome that results from high steriod therapy. Anyone in the medical field with a basic knowledge of the pharmacology of steriod therapy would know this. Ms Judd does not deserve any negative comments, but praise for honoring her commitments while suffering with a serious infection.

I don’t care how she looks! She’s a fine actress and I loved her tv show Missing. I am mad as hell that it will be cancelled. What the hell is wrong with the network? They have screwed up my tuesday nights!!

Her first show was great. So they cancel it. They leave on all the idiot shows that no one watches. Only in TV

This is really news worthy? Ashley Judd has a puffy face? I’m sure the homeless in the breadlines will be horrified and worry intensely about her when they hear this.

Ashley Judd is a beautiful woman. I could care less if she looks a little “puffy” in the face from steroids or plastic surgery. I concentrate in her wonderful acting and that must be what people should enjoy. It’s a very good show!

Ashley Judd will be missed on “Missing”. We enjoyed it on Tuesday nights. She is so pretty. I know first hand that steroids definitely leave one with a moon face as I have experienced it myself. People are so ridiculous in thinking otherwise.
