  • Ashlee Simpson may be engaged to the son of Diana Ross, but she’s still close with her onetime boyfriend, musician Ryan Cabrera.

The former couple reportedly hung out at his birthday party recently, where they talked about a possible collaboration between Cabrera and Simpsons’ fiance, Evan Ross.

“They were both super cute with one another, very affectionate and very touchy feely. At one point Ashlee even had Evan sitting on her lap as they conversed with their friends,” a source said.

Ross is reportedly cool with the two of them remaining friends and is rumored to be excited about a possible collaboration with Cabrera, whose hit “Photo” was penned for her.

Simpson is set to marry Ross later this year; it will be her second trip down the aisle, as she was married to Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz. The two have a son together and Wentz has said that the fact that she’s such a good mom has made it easy for them to get along following the divorce.

“I feel like we both realize that we’re parents and we’re in it for our kid. That’s made it really easy,” Wentz said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. “I feel like, as a mom, she’s awesome. She’s an awesome mom and we get along really well when it comes to our kid now.”

The singer made headlines this week with a photo her sister Jessica shared on Instagram of the two of them looking like fresh-faced twins, with several of their fans commenting on and sharing the image. She also made waves recently with her style after she was spotted out with Ross in an all-black ensemble.
