    October 18, 2004

America Online and 4Kids Entertainment launched an all-new world on AOL’s KOL service for kids. This new area gives kids access to customized content, video, games and interactive features from more than 10 popular brands represented by 4Kids.

Kids on the KOL service can now enter the 4Kids World, which features such leading properties of 4Kids Entertainment as Yu-Gi-Oh! and the FOX BOX 2004-2005 Saturday morning lineup of Winx Club, One Piece, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, F-Zero, Kirby and Shaman King. In the 4Kids World, kids can access special programming and interactive features on these television series, including information about upcoming episodes, buddy icons, games, printables and new toys. 4Kids World also will have special content on Cabbage Patch Kids, Artlist Collection: The Dog/The Cat, the Incredible Crash Dummies, American Kennel Club and Monster Jam.

“The alliance with 4Kids is a tremendous addition to the KOL service,” said Malcolm Bird, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Kids and Teens. “The ability for kids to access robust customized content and features from their favorite brands created for the KOL service is unparalleled in an online experience for kids. This alliance exemplifies the mission of the KOL service – to give kids the content and programming they love in a safer and more protected online environment that parents can trust.”

Alfred R. Kahn, 4Kids Entertainment Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are pleased to partner with AOL and its popular KOL service for kids. This strategically broadens our content distribution for our leading properties and provides a unique opportunity to strengthen the 4Kids brand. Our leadership position in kids entertainment combined with the reach of the KOL service provides a new platform to generate fun and excitement for kids worldwide.”

The KOL service has also launched two additional new worlds. Kids can get the latest scoop on their favorite stars in the Popstar! world, a special area with content from Popstar! Magazine, the tween resource for “What’s Now! What’s New! What’s Next!” Popstar!, a leading teen newsstand title that provides readers with celebrity news, interviews, fashion tips, gift guides, entertainment reviews, posters and hundreds of contests every month, supplies fun gossip and behind the scenes photos, including some content available exclusively on the KOL service. A new “Cartoons and Video” world gives kids using AOL for Broadband a one stop shop for video content from the KOL service including the popular animated series Princess Natasha and Kung Fu Academy and streaming video of Radio KOL, AOL’s live online daily radio show hosted by DJ Rick Adams. These new worlds join seven other partner worlds including Cartoon Network, Kids WB!, Time for Kids and Sports Illustrated for Kids.
