Tennis star and pinup girl Anna Kournikova has been dating Latin music sensation Enrique Iglesias for 12 years. In a recent interview with Billboard, Iglesias revealed an almost unbelievable detail, Kournikova has never met Enrique’s father Julio Iglesias.

Enrique says that there is no one to blame and that he rarely sees his estranged father, who was also quite a Lothario heartthrob back in his salad days. “The last 14 years, 15 years of my life have flown by. And that’s the only way I can truly explain it. There’s no reason why — it’s not his fault, and it’s not my fault.”

The 70-year-old Julio, who is the best-selling Latin music artist ever, clearly has a complicated relationship with his son. One would think that some kind of musical collaboration between the two Latin artists would be an obvious choice, however, Julio said last year that he would never work with his son. “Singing with my son is something that would come off as very commercial. I think that he and I will never sing together. If we sing, it will be at a dinner, when he has kids and wants his kids to sing, just like my little ones do. I don’t believe in a public commercial duet between my kids and me.”

Kournikova, 32, met Enrique, 38, while working on the music video Escape in 2001. Even though they’ve been romantically linked for over a decade, neither seems all that anxious to get hitched. Enrique’s parents were divorced, and Kournikova said in an interview with Women’s Health in 2011, “Marriage isn’t important to me. I’m in a happy relationship — that’s all that matters.”

Enrique is currently out promoting his new album Sex and Love, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. However, the album quickly slipped to No. 42 in its second week. Even still, the Latin heartthrob isn’t worried about the album’s sales, especially considering his last album Euphoria (2010) took 18 months to produce two top five singles.

Vete a la mierda Julio Iglesias, viejo morboso asqueroso. Le resiente a su propio hijo el exito que se gano. Go to hell Julius Church, disgusting old morbid man. He resents his own son’s earned success. Allez toi a la merde, Julio Eglise, Vieux con pédale!!!

Julio is very proud of enrique. Enrique is the very jealous competitive one. He wants nothing more then to beat his fathers record if selling albums. He’ll have to work for the rest if his life to. Julio is a legendary artist. Just a few in the world. Enrique is not. He will never be his father. He should just accept it. Isn’t having a relationship with your father more important then competing with him? I would think so.
