  • While the “Murder House” from the first season of American Horror Story sits on the market in Los Angeles for $5 million, new details from the fourth season are slowly being leaked to the media to excite fans of the show about the premiere this fall.

American Horror Story: Freak Show will take place in the 1950s and will feature many of the shows former cast: Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, and Angela Bassett. However, there will be newcomers as well, such as Michael Chiklis.

But who will each of these actors be playing? A scary clown?

“The most terrifying clown ever!” says director says co-creator Ryan Murphy.

    What about a bearded lady?

“Yes,” Murphy says. “Our version of it.”

We do know that Lange is slated to play a German ex-pat who “manages one of the last freak shows in the U.S.” Bates and Peters, as her son, will be performers in the show. Bassett admitted that she’s not sure who she is playing yet and Paulson revealed that she is working on a “very special skill” for this season. Chiklis will play Bates’ husband and Peters’ father.

“It feels really right,” Murphy said of the new season. “I thought it was going to be light but it’s turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark.”

Since this will be Lange’s last season on American Horror Story, it is only fitting that the season will be based on an idea that she and Murphy have talked about since the beginning.

“It was always her favorite one, which I thought was funny,” Murphy said. “I’ve had many different versions that I’ve run by her. I just love it. It feels really right. I thought it was going to be light but it’s turning out to be quite terrifyingly dark, which it feels much more like the Asylum season. But look – if you have a character named the Clown Killer, it’s going to be dark.”

Look for Lange, as well as the other fabulous cast members, in American Horror Story: Freak Show in the fall on FX.
