Google AdWords is saving some legwork for carpe sue’em attorneys. Revealing what we are likely to see more of in the future, a New York blogger was reluctant to use the moniker “ambulance chaser.”

Last week, two Roosevelt Island cable cars malfunctioned leaving some 70 people stranded 250 feet above the city. According to the AP, no injuries were reported and everyone got off safely.

But surely they were late for something, emotionally scarred, broke a nail, missed a tennis match, had a Freudian mommy momentsomething.

One law firm certainly thought so. Amy Langfield caught a screen shot of a Google search for [Roosevelt Island] on her weblog with a sponsored link reading “Roosevelt Tram Accident.”

After the law firm’s URL, the bait is dropped: “Victims, find out your rights today! No fee unless you collect.”

Eh, I guess it goes both ways. Do a Google search for information about AdWords campaigns for legal services and you’ll find that SEO’ers can be just as aggressive, offering better web design and even legal blog design.

Everybody’s got to make a living.
