  • Amanda Bynes is doing much better than she was just a few months ago and is said to be “much happier.”

Last year was a troubling time for Amanda Bynes. She was released from a psychiatric facility in October after episodes of erratic behavior and outrageous Twitter rants against her father and was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder.

But, things definitely seem on the up and up.

On Tuesday, a Ventura County, California, judge extended the Amanda Bynes’s conservatorship, which are currently held by her parents, until a hearing on June 23, according to People.

Bynes’s DUI case was also dismissed, her lawyer David Esquibias told the magazine.

“Amanda is doing well,” Esquibias told People.

In 2012, she was arrested for DUI, but avoided incarceration by completing inpatient treatment, and then, in early 2014, she was placed on three years’ probation for the DUI.

“Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago,” a family source told the magazine. “She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence.”
