Alexis Bledel Wanted For “Fifty Shades” Film, Petition Started
[ Life]

Alexis Bledel has a very strong fanbase who want to see her in the role of Anastasia Steele rather than Dakota Johnson, and they’ve even started a petition on Change.org to make it happen. Included in the petition is a plea for the film’s casting director to replace “Sons Of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam with Matt Bomer.

The petition currently has over 20,000 signatures and gaining; the petitioner, Barbra Peace, had this to say:

“Matt Bomer is the PERFECT DESCRIPTION OF CHRISTIAN GREY AND ALEXIS BLEDEL IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS TO REPRESENT ANASTASIA STEELE and if THEY ARE NOT, NOBODY WILL BE And I read the whole trilogy and I can assure that Matt is the perfect actor for this movie and Alexis too. So please PLEASE, all of the GREYsessed and Bomerettes in the world NEED those actors. They always will be for us the Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. WE CAN DO ANYTHING GUYS, ANYTHING.”

Several fans of the books have expressed disappointment in the casting choices, with one person saying that Charlie Hunnam doesn’t bring enough sex appeal.

“Christian is supposed to be sexy and mysterious. Charlie Hunnam looks dirty and very unappealing. I will not be watching the film with this cast. Which is sad because I have waited forever to see this.”

I think she would be the perfect person to play Ana! Everyone sign this petition & get her on set!

  • Kristy

Maybe she does not WANT to do the film.

  • Suzanne

Alexis and Matt are PERFECT for the roles!!! I was so disappointed in the other choices. I do not even want to see the movie unless these 2 get the roles!!

  • Laura

I like that fans are speaking out! But I doubt the Fifty Shades producers/director/EL James will listen.

HENRY CAVILL has been my choice from the beginning and I know he has been thousands of other fans pick as well! He embodies Christian wayyy more than any other actor! ♥

I’m sorry to say it, but Matt Bomer would be uncomfortable to see on-screen as CG simply b/c he is gay in real life. Sorry, but it’s the truth.

And Emilia Clarke would be perfect as Anastasia Steele!!! COME ON!!!

What was wrong with these people when they did the casting?! They completely ignored what the fans have been screaming at them for over a year! Talk about disrespect E L James!

What makes you say Matt Bomer would be uncomfortable? He looked pretty comfortable in Magic Mike.

Having not read 50 Shades, I have no idea who would be perfect. I do know I would rather see Matt Bomer in a movie than the other guy.

    • Loops

Why would he be uncomfortable? They’re called ACTORS for a reason, dude.

Neil Patrick Harris is gay and he plays Barney on How I Met Your Mother, a straight character perfectly well. Nothing is uncomfortable there. Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger were both straight and they played gay cowboys in Brokeback Mountain and that was a great movie.

I don’t see how your sexual orientation can interfere with your JOB, unless you are homophobic and stupid. So please don’t say anything about Matt Bomer being “uncomfortable” because that is completely irrelevant to how his acting skills are.

And I am interested to see how this movie plays out.

Aren’t they both too old for the roles… I have not read the books but from what I hear they’re suppose to be college kids right?

  • KMR

This entire thing makes me laugh. People who are calling Charlie Hunnam “dirty and unappealing” clearly don’t have enough brain cells to use IMDB or Google, to see him outside of his Sons of Anarchy role.

And Alexis Bledel knows full well that to do this movie would ruin her career. Let someone else who needs/wants the publicity put their career on the line for it.

Also…this movie is going to suck regardless.

I really think the people who picked the actors had reasons for why they did what they did. And we can’t really change that. if you personally don’t watch the movie then don’t, others will and the movies will still make the money with or without your support. so like it or not the show will go on. ( but you all know you will be curious and watch it any ways)

  • Frannie

Did anyone ever stop to think that maybe Alexis and Matt didn’t want to do this movie? Maybe they were asked already but turned it down. I don’t care who plays Ana and Christian, as long as they play it well.

  • Leah

I have to wonder: did any of these people ever consider that maybe Matt Bomer or Alexis Bledel didn’t WANT to do the movie??? It’s just laughable that people would go to the trouble of “demanding” that these two actors star in the movie. Somehow I don’t think Alexis Bledel would ever do that role. Besides, when it comes down to it, it’s just a movie. A movie based on VERY poorly written books, I might add!

  • BIgBob

So women are upset the did get Matt Bomer who is gay. Which nothing is wrong with and I like on White Collar. But if your going to lust over someone shouldn’t you actually have a chance with that person?

  • Rene

The petition will reach a great number and even I myself have signed the peition but I know nothing will be changed because unfortunately Hollywood, directors and producers don’t really care much but making the money and Hollywood to this day is still pretty independent to this day and gets away with many things but I hope that from this and sometime in the future the paying audience and the fans who ultimately are the customers the people who have made them rich will get a vote and a say on certain things when it comes down to making movies based on books with a great success and with a huge fanbase like fifty shades! the fact that we are ignored is confounding and i hope the movie fails!
