Cultural appropriation is a big deal to some people, but Adam Lambert says that it shouldn’t be.

Almost everyone is guilty of copying the elements or symbols of a culture without being a part of that culture.

Most people do it without thinking twice and do not mean anything negative or disrespectful by it.

Some cultures have complained of being disrespected by the use of their cultural elements and claim that there is a fine line between imitation and stereotyping.

Adam Lambert recently shared his feelings about the topic on twitter and started a debate among his followers.

Some of his followers agreed with him, but others felt that he was not being sensitive enough about the issue.

What do you think of Lambert’s opinion on the matter?

I think Adam Lambert is a genius. He’s also an Indigo. I have been trying to start a culture called “AND” where I try to say “and” instead of “or”. If we are trying to be a culture os “inclusiveness”, we need to pick up on things from every culture AND instead of being so sensitive, maybe we should be flattered that someone is trying to imitate something about our race, sexual orientation, religion, age, national origin…whatever.

Yes, obviously a white American should have the final say on what people of color get to be angry about. He should educate himself.

Educate himself about what ? Are you an artist ? I could do without his music altogether but he is 1000% right. And clearly, you live to find offense. How is that going for you and how has it helped anyone’s lives ?

Not a fan – but he is 100% correct.
