  • Abigail Breslin is not even eighteen; however, she has already made a name for herself. Her performances in Signs, Little Miss Sunshine , The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Zombieland, New Year’s Eve, and most recently, August: Osage County have garnered the talented, young actress a legion of fans.

Breslin attended the 2014 Critic’s Choice Awards where she showed a more adult look. The movie star insists that she is not trying to intentionally showcase an adult image, but rather that her work will mirror her maturity. Breslin was interviewed by E! News in November where she specifically addressed her participation in a photo shoot with Tyler Shields that had a more provocative theme than her previous photo shoots.

“I don’t make these conscious decisions to do it to like prove to the world that I’m grown up. I think people see my work and see what I do and see that I’m grown up. But yeah, I’m almost 18. Every headline for the past three years has been ‘Abigail Breslin All Grown Up,’ so I am kind of growing up. I do want to try different things but it’s all for fun,” Breslin said.

The 17-year-old starred in August: Osage County with two of Hollywood’s legendary actresses, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. Breslin learned about the art of acting from the two stars and even likened the experience to acting school. According to Bang Showbiz Breslin is reported to have said, “It was more (about) seeing how they were on set and watching them act, that was a big lesson. I felt like I was at an acting school for three months because I learnt so much just from watching them.”

The cast of August: Osage County are forerunners in this year’s Oscar season and have been busy attending award shows in recognition of the stellar performances shown in the movie.
